Victory Loves Preparation

"Regardless of your chosen endeavor, the outcome is directly proportionate to the level of commitment to the necessary preparation."

Having the honor to work and consult with some of the world's top athletes I continually impressed by their work ethic and discipline. In stark contrast I am always reminded of the rewards produced by preparation that is absent. On a recent trip with BJJ champion and professional MMA fighter Jon Delbrugge for a bout, I witnessed his implementation of the "Life: GPS." Truly a student of his profession, I took mental note of how he employed the knowledge he had accumulated over time. Having seen him progress through the amateur ranks to the, I noticed an intensely sharpened focus. And despite his immense preparation what I appreciated more was his drive to learn more by picking my brain, despite being engrossed in re-hydration process the night before his bout. With careful planning and precise monitoring Jon easily and systematically cut his last two pounds and weighed-in. His commitment to diet, training, and mental conditioning enabled him to achieve his goal and achieve victory. Now, some might say that it was his skill that allowed him to win. But I would assert that without these other integral components, that his skill would not have been given the opportunity to be utilized. And furthermore, that victory was assured solely due to his sacrifice.

Success is a choice.
